Jalandhar, Oct. 22 -- Punjab police chief Gaurav Yadav on Wednesday proposed key amendments to the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, urging the Centre to grant police officers joint enforcement powers along with drug inspectors.
The DGP said the state has also asked the Centre to include habit-forming prescription drugs directly under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, to enable strict, non-bailable prosecution.
