Shimla, July 30 -- The Himachal Pradesh high court has directed the state government and the Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPPCL) to immediately deploy additional heavy machinery in Kinnaur's Lippa village to clear debris-choked stream channels and avert the risk of flooding following fresh debris-flow incidents earlier this month.

The directions were issued by a division bench comprising chief justice GS Sandhawalia and justice Bipin C Negi while hearing a suo moto matter concerning the post-disaster situation in the tribal district.
