Delhi Police lodges FIR in July 20 protest

The Delhi Police's Crime Branch has registered a fresh FIR against over 2,800 people with criminal antecedents who were identified during the Chalo Sansad march on July 20, officials aware of the matter said. The FIR has been filed under sections of criminal conspiracy, common intention, assault to public servants, vandalism, and rioting.
Crime Branch officers said they will now examine whether those identified were actually part of the protesting crowd on July 20, their criminal antecedents, and their association, if any, with the student outfits involved in the agitation. Investigators will also look into whether any of them played a role in leading or instigating the mob during the violence.
