Delhi HC issues warrant for litigant who insulted judge
New Delhi, Nov. 11 -- The Delhi High Court has issued bailable warrants against a litigant who allegedly made derogatory remarks about a district judge and called court proceedings "stupid."
A bench of justices Vivek Chaudhary and Manoj Jain passed the order on November 6 while hearing a contempt case initiated suo motu after a reference from a Karkardooma court judge.
Court records show the man repeatedly disrupted virtual hearings, insulted the district judge, and ignored directions despite several warnings.
The High Court had earlier issued a show-cause notice and appointed legal aid counsel to assist him, but he continued to avoid physical appearance.
