Delhi 'date racket': Two men arrested for conspiring to extort 28-year-old man
India, Sept. 19 -- Two men were arrested in connection with an alleged extortion case involving a 28-year-old man who was allegedly lured to a restaurant in east Delhi's Anand Vihar by a woman he met through WhatsApp, police said on Friday.
The accused have been identified as Mohammad Arshadullah Alam, 28, and Aman Gujjar, 28. Police said Alam is the owner of the restaurant, while Aman works as a bouncer.
According to the police, they allegedly extorted Rs.25,000 from the victim against the inflated bill of Rs.21,000. They also threatened him against approaching the police and demanded another Rs.25,000.
Police said the woman who allegedly lured the victim is absconding.
