CHANDIGARH, Nov. 5 -- The Haryana Human Rights Commission (HHRC) has observed that the death of two workers while cleaning the septic tank of a private hotel without safety equipment in Hansi last month was a violation of human rights and directed the concerned authorities to submit the action taken reports within six weeks.

The HHRC has directed the hotel management to immediately stop manual cleaning and entry of workers into septic or sewer tanks without protective gear, gas testing, rescue arrangements, and oxygen cylinders, and submit a compliance report within six weeks.
