Cyclone alert issued after rains hit Andhra
Hyderabad, Sept. 27 -- Heavy rains disrupted normal life in several parts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on Friday, as the Indian Meteorological Department sounded an orange alert following the formation of a deep depression in the Bay of Bengal, which is expected to intensify into a cyclone within 24 hours.
In Telangana heavy rains wreaked havoc in several parts with Tallapally in Ranga Reddy district the highest rainfall of 105 mm since 8.30 am to 6 pm on Friday, followed by 102 mm at Shahbad in the same district, 85 mm at Ieeja in Jogulamba Gadwal district, 84.8 mm at Maldakal in the same district and 79 mm at Mogiligidda in Ranga Reddy district, a bulletin from Telangana Development Planning Society said.
