Chandigarh, Feb. 13 -- A 48-year-old scrap dealer was attacked and robbed at knifepoint near the road dividing Sector 54/55 on Tuesday night while he was returning home on his bicycle.

The victim, Hauri, a resident of Palsora village, told the police that the incident occurred around 8.45 pm, about 300-400 metres ahead of the Phase-2 lights in Sector 55. He was returning home, after selling scrap in Madanpura, Mohali, when two youths emerged from the forest area and blocked his way.

According to the complaint, one of the suspects caught him from the back while the other, armed with a knife, threatened him for money. The assailant's accomplice allegedly snatched Hauri's wallet from his back pocket and fled towards the forest.
