India, June 4 -- At least three died after a gantry crane used in the construction of a flyover on the Jewar Expressway connecting Faridabad collapsed onto a makeshift shelter at a construction site in Haryana's Faridabad on Thursday, police said.

One worker was rescued with serious injuries, while rescue teams continued efforts to reach others believed to be trapped under the heavy equipment.

The incident took place near Panhera Khurd village under the Chhainsa police station jurisdiction between 1.30 pm and 2 pm, public relations officer of Faridabad Police Yashpal Yadav said.
