CR adds 22 longer-rake services on CSMT-Khopoli corridor from today
India, Aug. 15 -- Starting today (August 15), commuters on the Central Railway's CSMT-Khopoli corridor will get more room, with 22 suburban services being upgraded from 12-car to 15-car rakes. The move will take the number of 15-car services on the main line from 32 to 54, adding 25% carrying capacity to each upgraded train.
The additional coaches will benefit commuters travelling between CSMT and stations including Ambarnath, Badlapur, Karjat and Khopoli. Despite the upgrade, the total number of suburban services will remain unchanged at 1,820.
