Dharamshala, Sept. 6 -- After facing backlash, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mandi, has ordered an inquiry into a controversial poster displayed on its campus depicting a caste-based social hierarchy.

The institute has constituted a committee to probe the matter. A row erupted on Saturday after a poster depicting caste-based social hierarchy was displayed at IIT-Mandi during an event, drawing sharp criticism on social media. The institute clarified that it had no role in the event where the poster was displayed.
