GUWAHATI, Sept. 4 -- Congress on Thursday severed ties with Raijor Dal, its regional partner in Assam, accusing it of "breaching alliance ethics". This comes five months after the assembly polls and ahead of bye-election to the Nagaon Lok Sabha seat which is expected to be held in the next two months. "The Raijor Dal leadership continuously engaged in malicious propaganda and character assassination against the Congress party," mentioned a release by the Congress's state unit. "...it is no longer viable to sustain ties with Raijor Dal," it added. Raijor Dal also accused the Congress of failing to be a responsible Opposition party and target BJP over it's policies.htc
