Lucknow, Oct. 3 -- The Congress on Friday has appointed three-time Rampur Khas MLA Aradhana Misra 'Mona' as the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) president, replacing Ajay Rai, in a major organisational reshuffle aimed at recalibrating the party's social and regional outreach ahead of the 2027 assembly elections, according to a party statement. The party has also appointed Saharanpur MP Imran Masood as the state's working president, while Devinder Nishad and Alok Prasad have been appointed as senior vice presidents. It has also named Chaudhary Virendra Singh as the state's Congress Legislature Party leader, a post which Misra held untill now.
