India, Dec. 31 -- The year 2025 saw multiple catastrophic natural disasters that led to large-scale devastation and loss of life across the country. From floods in Punjab that damaged thousands of homes and caused major crop losses to cloudbursts in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district and avalanches in Uttarakhand, the year witnessed massive destruction due to natural disasters.
India experienced extreme weather events on over 331 days, according to an analysis by the Delhi-based think tank Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) and Down To Earth.
