India, Sept. 23 -- A 35-year-old man who had come to Mumbai looking for work was found dead at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) after an encounter with Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, with his family alleging that he was detained and tortured and the GRP maintaining that he was not in custody when he died. The Maharashtra CID has now taken over the probe into the circumstances surrounding his death.

Imran Shaikh Patel, from Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh, was found unconscious inside a CSMT restroom on September 18 and was later declared dead at St George Hospital.
