Chandigarh, April 6 -- A 33-year-old doctor, working in the neurosurgery department of Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, was allegedly duped of Rs.1.10 crore in an online trading fraud.
According to the complaint submitted to the cyber crime police station, Sector 17, the victim, a resident of Sector 38-C, was lured into a fraudulent investment scheme earlier this year.
Police said the complainant began exploring stock market investments through social media in December 2025. In January 2026, he was added to a WhatsApp group named 'Po8-5 Paisa Wealth Horizon', which had around 250 members.
