Chandigarh, Aug. 14 -- A total of 3049 patients have been attended so far in a dedicated cardiac emergency started in March 2026 at the Advanced Cardiac Centre of the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER).

Earlier, cardiac patients were rushed to the main emergency in Nehru block and used to be later transferred to the Advanced Cardiac Centre, but with emergency care available in Advanced Cardiac Centre, treatment accessibility has increased, providing immediate care.
