New Delhi, Aug. 22 -- The Centre on Friday told the Supreme Court that it would place on record the latest developments in the long-running dispute between Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) and the government over gas production and pricing from the Krishna-Godavari basin, bringing back into focus a case that has remained pending before the court for over a decade. The government's statement came as the court was hearing a batch of petitions, including those filed by former CPI leader and then MP Gurudas Dasgupta and NGO Common Cause, which raise questions relating to RIL's KG-D6 gas extraction, contractual obligations, gas pricing and alleged irregularities in expenditure and payments to contractors.
