LUCKNOW, Aug. 12 -- The Hardoi police registered a case against Samajwadi Party (SP) Mahila Sabha national president Seema Rajbhar following a complaint by a Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) leader who alleged that objectionable, misleading and defamatory content targeting the party's senior leadership, women leaders and their family members was circulated on social media.

The FIR was registered at Hardoi City Kotwali around 8:39pm on Monday on charges, including criminal intimidation, intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, criminal conspiracy and relevant provisions of the Information Technology Act. SBSP national spokesperson Sunil Arkvanshi, a resident of Hardoi, lodged the complaint.
