Toronto, July 19 -- Canada's Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) has ordered the deportation of a 21-year-old Indian national, Sahibjot Singh, over his alleged involvement with the Bishnoi gang and participation in extortion activity. "There are reasonable grounds to believe that Mr. Singh engaged in activity that is part of the organization's criminal activity," the IRB said in its order, according to the outlet CBC News. IRB ordered the removal of Singh, who was residing in Canada's province of Alberta. Since April 2025, police have reported 49 extortion-related incidents in Calgary, including 19 shootings and arrested 16 people and laid a total of 56 charges.
