BRICS Summit: Tibetans in-exile urge Beijing to engage in peaceful dialogue to address Tibet concerns
Shimla, Sept. 11 -- Ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to India for the 18th BRICS Summit, Tibetan representatives have urged Beijing to engage in peaceful dialogue with Tibetan representatives even as the Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC) has strongly condemned Jinping's participation.
Spokesperson for the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), Tenzin Lekshay, urged the Chinese leadership to use the BRICS platform to promote cooperation rather than confrontation. He said Beijing should address the aspirations of Tibetans and other communities before seeking to build wider international cooperation.
