Chandigarh, April 3 -- The maximum temperature crossed 35degC for the first time this season on Thursday, but relief is around the corner as hail and thunderstorms are likely in the city on Friday and Saturday, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

As per IMD, two Western Disturbances (WDs) are likely to hit the region in quick succession. The system will be strongest on Friday and Saturday, and light to moderate rain is likely, even as there are chances of hail and squall in the city. The second system is likely to affect the city from April 7.
