New Delhi, Aug. 21 -- Former Trump national security adviser John Bolton sharply criticised the administration's "confused" approach toward India, saying the relationship is in "a very bad place" due to contradictory policies that unfairly single out New Delhi. In an interview with HT, Bolton questioned why India faces 25% tariffs for purchasing Russian energy while China - the largest buyer of Russian oil and gas-escapes sanctions entirely.
He called this "leaving India hanging out to dry" and warned it could drive New Delhi closer to Russia and China. He said Trump's policies are "destroying decades of effort" to build trust with India and other allies.FULL INTERVIEW ON P16
