BMC plans rRs.r702-cr underground pedestrian link from Mahalaxmi Metro to Coastal Rd
India, Aug. 18 -- The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has proposed constructing an underground pedestrian vestibule connecting the Mahalaxmi Racecourse or the Science Centre Metro station area on Line 3 with the Coastal Road's Worli promenade. The 3.5-4-kilometer link aims to provide a safe and convenient connection for Metro commuters and pedestrians travelling towards the Coastal Road promenade.
Estimated to cost the BMC Rs.702.44 crore, the project is proposed to be implemented by the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MMRCL), and is being taken up under the Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) provisions of DCPR 2034.
