BENGALURU, March 20 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its candidates for the upcoming by-elections in Davanagere South and Bagalkot assembly constituencies, positioning the contests as a key test of political momentum in Karnataka. The bypolls will be held in the two constituencies on April 9. Srinivas Dasakariappa, the state vice president of the BJP's ST Morcha, will contest from Davangere South, while former three-time MLA Veeranna (Veerabhadraiah) Charantimath has been fielded from Bagalkot.
