Bhojshala row: Dhar Muslims reject site earmarked for Friday namaz
India, July 18 -- Muslims in Dhar refused to perform Friday prayers on a land allotted for the purpose by the district administration, as it was located 1.5km away from the Bhojshala complex.
The community leaders argued that despite the Supreme Court's directive to provide land near the complex, the administration designated a site near Chalees Peer, a shrine in Maliwada village.
On Tuesday, a Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, along with Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana, declined to stay the Madhya Pradesh High Court's ruling that recognised the Bhojshala Temple-Kamal Maula Mosque complex as a temple dedicated to Goddess Saraswati.
