India, Sept. 21 -- Bank customers may have to plan their branch visits in advance as the State Bank of India (SBI) has issued an advisory stating that a three-day nationwide strike called by bank unions is set to take place on 28, 29 and 30 September. These dates coincide with the September 26-27 weekend, potentially resulting in five consecutive days without normal banking services.

The upcoming strike follows a nationwide one-day bank strike held on September 11, when employees and officers of several public-sector banks walked off the job. The strike did not resolve the unions' demands, prompting the UFBU to announce the three day strike on 28-30 September and an indefinite strike planned for 26 October.
