New Delhi, June 3 -- The Agra office of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has prepared a detailed conservation proposal for the Shahi Masjid mosque within the Taj Mahal complex and dispatched it to its New Delhi headquarters for approval - the first major push for restoration at the 17th-century structure in over a decade, and one that comes even as the mosque finds itself at the centre of overlapping legal, religious and political controversies.
