New Delhi, July 9 -- Doctors at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital have successfully performed living donor liver transplants on 23-month-old identical twin brothers from the Philippines suffering from a rare congenital disorder of the bile ducts. The hospital said this is the first such twin transplant among its nearly 650 paediatric liver transplants till date. The twins, Tyler and Kelly, were born prematurely, weighing 2kg and 2.4kg respectively. Within weeks of birth, both developed persistent jaundice and pale stools.
