Android to get major Gemini AI upgrade
New Delhi, May 13 -- Google plans a massive overhaul of its Android operating system, deeply embedding its Gemini artificial intelligence (AI) into third-party applications. The move, detailed ahead of the company's annual I/O developer conference, aims to effectively transform Android smartphones into dedicated AI devices.
The core of the update is a new "Gemini Intelligence" layer. This shifts Gemini from a conversational chatbot to an active, contextual assistant that automates everyday tasks.
