AMD stock falls despite earnings beat: Why investors are still worried about AI growth and margins
India, Aug. 5 -- Advanced Micro Devices reported better-than-expected second-quarter results, but investors appeared disappointed because they were expecting an even stronger performance from the chipmaker. AMD shares fell 8.5% in premarket trading on Wednesday, according to the report.
AMD reported $11.5 billion in second-quarter revenue, up 50% from a year earlier. Wall Street had expected revenue of about $11.3 billion. The company also reported adjusted earnings of $1.66 per share, beating the $1.62 per-share estimate.
