Allahabad HC refuses to quash rape, gangrape FIR under guise of 'nikah halala', says POCSO overrides personal law
India, July 4 -- The Allahabad High Court has dismissed a series of writ petitions seeking to quash an FIR against nine people accused of rape and gang-rape under the guise of "nikah halala", including once when the woman was a minor, saying that when it comes to criminal law there is absolutely "no place for pleading personal laws".
