New Delhi, Aug. 19 -- As many as 5,706 flights were cancelled by Indian carriers due to regulatory issues and geopolitical issues this year till June 30, the civil aviation ministry informed Rajya Sabha on Monday. In a written response to Congress MPs Phulo Devi Netam and Ranjeet Ranjan, Minister of State (MoS) for civil aviation Murlidhar Mohol revealed the airline-wise flight cancellations and or reschedulings in 2025, noting that IndiGo recorded the maximum cancellations. According to the data provided by the ministry, domestic airlines carried 7.34% more passengers between January and June 2025 compared to the same period last year.
