Patna, April 25 -- Four policemen at Bihar's Pakribarawan excise police station in Nawada district were arrested on Saturday by Jamui police in connection with an extortion case, police said.

Those arrested were identified as assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs) Sujit Kumar and Dilip Kumar, and two home guard jawans, Ravinder Kumar and Gulshan Kumar.

The four were arrested on charges of extorting Rs.1.5 lakh to secure the release of a Jamui youth and his Creta car after he was detained on Thursday for carrying liquor.

A First Information Report (FIR) was registered against them based on a complaint by Pintu Kumar Yadav. He said that his elder brother, Santosh Kumar, left home around 1pm but had not returned by evening.
