28 seafarers stranded in 5 vessels seek help
Mumbai, March 14 -- Twenty-eight Indian seafarers on five vessels unable to exit the Persian Gulf amid the ongoing war in West Asia have reached out to the All-India Seafarers Union (AISU) reporting "lack of water and food onboard," union members said on Friday.
According to the AISU, the union has received messages from seafarers reporting shortage of supplies including drinking water on board, with reports of rations soon running out. The Mumbai-based seafarers union that represents merchant navy personnel across India said the vessels which sent the SoS are MSC Panaya, W Kithira, Tema Express, One Majesty, and CMA CGM Kribi, all foreign flagged.
