India, March 31 -- Following the February 10 order from the Bombay High Court, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken over the investigation into the unnatural death of a 13-year-old schoolgirl from Vasai who was allegedly raped and murdered in 2010.
The CBI on Thursday re-registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and also took over the case papers from the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which was investigating the suspected rape and murder.
The incident took place on August 27, 2010, when the minor went for a Scout-Guide camp organised by her school in Tungareshwar forest near Navghar. Around 1:30 pm the minor and other students were playing in the streams when the heavy rains...
