PUNE, March 29 -- Two fresh cases were lodged against the arrested self-styled godman Ashok Kharat in Maharasthra's Nashik, including one of rape and another of cheating, taking the total number of criminal offences against him to 10, police said on Saturday. According to police, eight of the 10 cases pertain to rape and sexual exploitation, while two are related to cheating. The Sarkarwada police in Nashik registered the first case on Friday following a complaint by a married woman, who alleged that Kharat sexually assaulted her four times over a five-month period between August and December 2024.
