Silchar, Aug. 3 -- A 15-year-old girl was found dead at her home near National Highway-6 in Assam's Hailakandi district, with her family alleging she was raped and murdered, police said on Sunday, adding that four people have been detained for questioning in the incident. Senior superintendent of police (SSP), Hailakandi, Amitab Sinha, said police have registered a case in connection with the incident, which took place on Saturday night. Though the family members alleged that the girl was sexually assaulted before being murdered, the SSP said the allegations are yet to be established medically.
