India, Sept. 24 -- An Indian founder's experience with a deaf Lyft driver in the US has drawn attention online after he shared how the ride unfolded. He was surprised to see the app inform him that his driver was deaf and even suggest American Sign Language phrases to help them communicate.

After the ride, the founder shared the experience on X and questioned whether India could do more to create equal opportunities and accessibility for people with disabilities.

The post was shared by X user Gaurav Kheterpal. He said that after landing in the US, he booked a Lyft to travel to his hotel. Before the cab arrived, he noticed a note informing him that his driver was deaf or hard of hearing.
