India, Aug. 23 -- As the United States and Canada find themselves locked in a trade dispute yet again, President Donald Trump has hit back at the neighbouring nation. Taking to social media, the US president accused Canada of asking too much while renewing his 51st state jibe.

"Canada wants the benefits of being a State, without being one!!! They have also charged our great farmers, for many years, massive amounts of Tariffs. No more!!!" Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Trump's remarks come after Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney stated that Ottawa will respond with a "dollar for dollar" move to match the 50 per cent tariff imposed by Trump.
