Chandigarh, Oct. 25 -- The court of additional sessions judge Yashika (special judge, POCSO court) on Friday acquitted Mandeep Singh, a resident of Moga, Punjab, in a case of alleged rape under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The court's decision was based on the prosecution's failure to prove the charges and its finding that the victim's testimony was unworthy of credit.

The accused, Mandeep Singh, was acquitted of charges under Sections 376 (2) (n) (repeated rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and Sections 4 and 6 of the POCSO Act.
