India, July 13 -- A shocking case has emerged from Uttar Pradesh's Hapur where a woman accidently consumed acid after a shopkeeper handed her an apparently sealed water bottle late last week.

The woman is said to be undergoing treatment at a hospital in Meerut where she is said to be in a critical condition. The incident took place at a jewelry shop in Hapur and was caught on CCTV installed there. The visuals of the woman mistakenly consuming acid has been widely shared on social media platforms.
