New Delhi, March 27 -- Members of the transgender community, including welfare board officials from different states, have congregated in the capital in a show of strength to protest against the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Amendment Bill, 2026, which was cleared by Parliament earlier this week.
Leading transgender rights activists Laxmi Narayan Tripathi, Aryan Pasha, Simran Sheikh, and Dr Sanvi Jethwani of the Maharashtra State Board for Protection of Transgender Rights and Welfare, among others, held a press conference at the Constitution Club of India.
