New Delhi, July 30 -- The government is likely to take up the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act amendment bill in Parliament on Monday, according to a senior opposition leader aware of the details.
The Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, introduced in March this year, provisions for the creation of a designated authority that can take control of assets created from foreign funds received by an organisation whose FCRA licence is cancelled, suspended or surrendered.
An Opposition MP from Rajya Sabha said, "We have come to know that the government plans to bring the FCRA amendment bill in the Lok Sabha on Monday. We will wholeheartedly oppose it."
