Goa, April 10 -- The World Test Championship (WTC) format, as it currently stands, does not include one-off Test matches in its cycle, with series required to have at least two Tests to be considered. However, this structure may soon change as the ICC considers expanding the competition to 12 teams in the next cycle.

According to an ESPNCricinfo report, a working group led by former New Zealand batter Roger Twose is expected to submit recommendations in May regarding the revised structure. The panel, formed in 2025, has been tasked with addressing scheduling challenges arising from multiple formats and the rapid growth of franchise-based T20 leagues.
