Goa, Aug. 27 -- Opposition Leader Yuri Alemao has accused the BJP of attempting to divide Hindus, Christians and Muslims through a "divide and rule" policy over the proposed Anti-Conversion Bill in Goa.

Alemao said the Congress would oppose any such attempts and remain focused on issues affecting the people of Goa, particularly corruption and other matters concerning the state.

Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco has criticised the Goa government's proposed anti-conversion Bill, saying there is no evidence or historical data to establish that forced religious conversions are taking place in the state.
