Goa, July 21 -- Youth leaders have demanded an immediate and unconditional public apology from former BJP MP Narendra Sawaikar over his controversial "termites" remark, warning that they will stage a peaceful march to his residence if he fails to apologise.

In a strongly worded statement, the group said referring to the country's youth as "termites" was "disgraceful and completely unacceptable," asserting that young people are the nation's strength, hope and future and deserve respect rather than insults.

The youth demanded that Sawaikar issue an immediate public apology, stating that failure to do so would prompt a democratic and peaceful protest march to his residence.
