Goa, July 16 -- In a late-night narcotics raid, Bicholim Police arrested a 26-year-old man, Prajal Gaonkar, for possession of suspected ganja near the railway tracks at Shirgao. Acting on specific intelligence, the operation was carried out between 10:55 PM on July 15 and 1:10 AM on July 16, 2025.

During the raid, police recovered 208 grams of a green leafy substance suspected to be ganja, valued at Rs.20,800. Along with the contraband, a Yamaha Aerox scooter (registration number GA-04-R-9755) and a mobile phone (make HMD) were also seized under panchanama procedures.
