India, April 7 -- Around 85 workers employed with Sesa Resources Limited at Dignem-Pali in Sanquelim have staged a protest after allegedly being retrenched without prior notice.

A few days earlier, the affected workers, accompanied by their families, had met Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, who assured them that steps would be taken towards their reinstatement. However, the workers claim that no concrete action has been taken so far.

In protest, the workers have been stationed at the site for the past several days, attempting to block mineral transportation. They are demanding immediate government intervention to address their livelihood concerns and ensure job security.
