Goa, Aug. 14 -- Tata Steel has transferred its entire stake in Jamshedpur Football and Sporting Private Limited (JFSPL), the company that operates Jamshedpur FC, to Churchill Brothers Sports Club for a nominal consideration of just Rs.100. While the figure has raised eyebrows, it does not represent the actual value of the football club or suggest that Jamshedpur FC is worth only Rs.100.

Instead, the amount reflects the nature of the transaction. Tata Steel has decided to exit professional football club ownership, while Churchill Brothers has agreed to take over the club and its football operations, subject to the necessary approvals, including those from the All India Football Federation (AIFF).
